Using Flower Power On The Walking Dead.
For anyone who likes Popcap games (and who doesn’t?) there is a new release that is well worth having a look at. It is called; ‘Plants Vs Zombies’ and it is an all together strange affair…
It is your job to stop the Zombies from reaching your house. There is nothing unusual about this up to now; any good zombie film will have the undead trying to get into the hero’s haven. This, however, is where all rational though comes to an end. You do not use firepower, baseball bats or chainsaws to ward them off… you use Plants.
Different plants do different things and as the game progresses your nursery will blossom (oh, dear). The most important Plant at your disposal is the ‘Sun Flower’. You need to nurture these to increase the growth of your ‘armed’ plants. The plants have all got clever battle names such as; ‘Pea-Shooter’ and ‘Wall Nut’.
The gameplay is nice and simple and the graphics are extremely cute. Even the written threats that you receive from the zombies are winsome and humorous. The overall presentation deserves a most definite ten out of ten. Plants Vs Zombies is one of those games that draws you in for hours on end. It is a deceptively addictive game that goes out of its way to be a little bit different.
It is nice to come across a game that is so purposely designed to be original. Popcap have delivered another really good release that is great fun to play.
